About us

Ballyloughan is a growing member congregation of the Presbyterian Church in Ireland. Located in the town of Ballymena, it is a congregation made up of a wide range of age groups, united by the church’s aim which is ‘to see people becoming wholehearted followers of Jesus Christ.’

History
Ballyloughan Church began in 1973, as a church extension charge of the Presbyterian Church in Ireland. It was established to meet the spiritual needs of the rapidly increasing population within the large housing developments which were being constructed in the northern part of Ballymena. Today membership stands at approximately 300 families.

Vision
Our is a very straightforward one: ‘to see people becoming wholehearted followers of Jesus Christ.’
In pursuing this aim we are committed, with God’s help, to…

worshipping God with joy and placing Him at the centre of our lives.
growing closer to the character of Jesus as, with each other’s help, we apply the Bible’s teaching to our lives.
caring for each other in sacrificial ways that reveal the love of God
serving God by using our abilities, time, money and possessions for Him
engaging with our community and beyond with the radical love and message of Jesus

People

We are keen to stress in Ballyloughan that everyone is called to be a ‘minister’ or servant of Jesus Christ. We have a large number of people who serve with all the energy and enthusiasm which Jesus gives. There are some people however which the church employs to help us achieve our aim
